02/05, Nurburgring (GER): Great Show for our guests

With the second stage of International Open GT Championship, which took place at the Nurburgring race track, Sisgeo and Geomesstec organized inside the Ferrari-Kessel Racing Motorhome a great event with a lot of German guests.

The agonistic week-end has given little satisfaction to the Sisgeo driver, Lorenzo Bontempelli. However, positive impression has been made in terms of competitiveness. Evidence of that is the “pole position” won for the first qualification section, which was the only time when the Kessel Racing Team’s F430 was not affected by any technical trouble. Also a problem to the “splitter” prevented Livio from continuing with the good performance registered by Bontempelli. The Swiss team placed 7th in its category and 19th overall on the qualification grid for “Race 2”. After some problems with aerodynamics were fixed, the outcome of the “Race 1” seemed promising, but at five laps to go a broken hub, caused the loss of a wheel, vanishing all hopes of the Italian drivers for a well deserved podium finish.

Race 2 started on a wet asphalt, and some mechanical troubles showed up before the green light. These problems allowed Bontempelli and Livio to start racing normally only after two laps have been completed by the opponents. Despite the great comeback of the Kessel Racing’s pilots, they ended up 8th with two laps down to the winners Ortelli/Dayraut of the Luxury Team. Great competitiveness has been shown anyway by both car and pilots, that form the next race at the “Enzo & Dino Ferrari” circuit in Imola (21st-23rd  of May), can achieve the good results which were shown to be attainable during the week-end at Nurburgring.
