A victory and a second place finish should be considered an excellent result, after a challenging week end at Imola’s race track, but it’s not. After Saturday’s applauded triumph, the opportunity to replicate the result on Sunday vanished at just less than 500 meters to go. A mocking destiny, that resembles the race of Valencia, where Livio has been surpassed again by another opponent. If in Valencia was Ceccato, in Imola was the turn of Dayraut, to take advantage of the troubles that affected the Kessel Racing’s F430 during the last laps. The victory faded away at the Rivazza curve, was not due to a mistake of Bontempelli’s driving partner, but to a malfunctioning transmission which had impaired his performance during the last phases of the race. Thanks to the eighteen points won in Imola, the overall classification has slightly improved for Bontempelli/Livio. They are now placed 4th in the GTS class, just 10 points behind the leader Dayraut, who is the target for the next race at Spa-Franchorchamps.
